OG Sweetz Links with Willie D of the Geto Boys for timely Warning for Racists
Rapper OG Sweetz and hip-hop legend Willie D (of the Geto Boys) connect on for a politically charged warning for racists feeling empowered by the current political leadership; "Don't let the Goverdent Get Your Ass Kicked." Goverdent, a politically charged track produced by southern hitmaker Cory Mo, features OG Sweetz and Willie D exchanging gritty bars over an ominous yet memorable beat.
"The song is inspired by the countless videos I've seen over this year on social media of people feeling empowered to harass minorities and other (perceived) vulnerable people with rhetoric and actions rooted in racism and ignorant prejudices," OG Sweetz explains.
"Willie D was the only fit for this record in my opinion," Sweetz explains. "I've always been a fan of his music and the boldness that he speaks with on political issues that affect our communities." Over the last few years, Willie D has become more vocal about the deteriorating political climate, using his social media and other communication channels to share his thoughts. Two months ago, his YouTube channel (where he shares his commentary) was deleted for violating community guidelines. The hip-hop legend hosted a press conference to condemn Google for censorship.
